As the earlier initiatives by Guardian Guardian group were more narrative-driven and not able to afford the liberty to release information. This isn't the case with this project which means we'll get more details on the way to releasing.

The first, somewhat-specific feature Mod Joe discussed was the inclusion of Slayer ability in the zone. There will be Slayer creatures, and methods to earn Slayer points based on specific goals. There isn't likely to be any conventional Slayer master, but. Another interesting idea that came from RuneLabs regarding their content updates was the idea to create a brand new closed economy within the region. Mod James, as well as members of the Guardian team loved it, so the Arc is going to become a new location for players. We love this concept as it isn't possible to spend your entire character's worth of gold to buy everything you want. Everyone is supposed to be equal at the beginning. This is a good idea. The wealth you make in The Arc will not go to waste, however, because you'll be able to bring back home and invest it into your ports owned by players. It will be impossible to access ports resources until you are in The Arc.

While teams typically have three months to have the game ready for players However, the magnitude of this project enticed the top executives at Jagex to extend this date to six weeks. With that in mind that the Guardian team is not in the habit to have players wait until October and then have no content in between and are planning to release the first half of The Arc Islands in July, with the next portion coming out in the month of October. Given that they Guardian team also received the privilege of putting together the Halloween celebration, it is likely to occur on one of Arc Islands.
