A WMV file is not the same as a wmv, the wvm is a video downloaded from Google play movies and is a type of mpeg-4 video file. It is currently unable to be opened by anything other than the Google play movies app because of the DRM properties surrounding the file.

Thanks for sharing this post, and I get a full knowledge to convert MKV to MOV, MP4 and more. But as an iTunes addict, I also would like to convert iTunes M4V movies to MKV for watching iTunes videos on smart TV. All I know is that iTunes movies and TV shows are encrypted by FairPlay DRM technology, and are not allowed to play on non-Apple devices. So I usually use iTunes DRM M4V Converter to remove DRM protection from iTunes purchases and rentals and convert iTunes M4V to other common formats, such as MOV, MP4, AVI, MKV, etc.
